A very interesting work by Kabalevsky, yet of a medium - easy level. Playable by the full woodwind section or an ensemble of 3 flutes, 3 clarinets, bass clarinet and 4 saxes (prominent sax parts are cued in the clarinets). Whilst interesting for the most advanced groups, the ranges and technical demands are somewhat limited. Can be played effectively with only 11 players (3 flutes, 3 clarinets, bass clarinet and 4 saxophones) or the entire woodwind section of your band.
