Terms & Conditions

When confirmation of order is received, this is to indicate that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, when we send you an invoice. We have included this term to protect us in the case that a mistake has been made in pricing, we have inadvertently under-priced goods, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for any reason. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable.

Official Orders from UK Recognised Educational and Governmental Establishments: Goods will be dispatched on invoice, with payment due within 30 days from date of invoice.

Other retail orders: Goods will be dispatched on receipt of full payment in advance. Payment may be made by:

1. Credit Card (e.g. Visa, Mastercard - unfortunately we cannot accept American Express) 
2. Debit Card
3. Direct to our Bank – details on application 
4. Paypal - we can send you a paypal invoice to pay

All goods remain the property of Studio Music, until all sums due to the company, whether in respect of these Goods or otherwise, are paid in full by the Customer.

Shipping And Handling
All orders dispatched to addresses in the UK will be subject to the following charges as a contribution to postage and packaging (a few regional variations may apply):

UK Orders will be dispatched by the most economic means unless an alternative is requested. Special Delivery/Next Day is available at an additional charge. If the order is split, the appropriate charge for the whole order will be applied when the first part of the order is dispatched, with no further charges levied on the remainder of the order.

International orders will be dispatched by the most economic airmail, unless an alternative method is requested. Exact postage is charged on all international orders, with a minimum charge of £4.95.

Tax Charges
For orders made from the UK, 20% VAT is added when applicable. All other orders are VAT free. Prices shown are inclusive of UK taxes.

Credit Card Security
Studio Music takes the security and protection of your personal and card details seriously, so much so that when an order is placed at our website, credit card numbers are transmitted across an industry standard SSL Certificated secure connection using SellerDeck Payments. Orders are only decrypted when reviewed for order processing for which we do not have access to your full card details within our systems.

Your card payment details are never retained by us at any time.

Delivery to EU member states
From July 2021, there have been changes to the way VAT applies when making Business to Consumer (B2C) supplies of goods delivered from the UK to EU states.

The Studio Music Customer Service Team’s objective is to ensure you receive the physical goods you have selected and ordered as quickly as possible, with minimum delay and without the need to separately pay VAT locally before taking delivery in EU states.

Our B2C courier arrangements define you the customer as the Importer of Record of these goods. Our carriage and packing fee incorporates associated costs and therefore our invoice will show items as zero rated exports for UK VAT purposes.

Our supply of goods will be treated as made on a B2C basis if a customer cannot supply a VAT number when ordering on behalf of a business or other type of organisation.

Returns Policy
We do not supply complete sets of music on a sale or return basis. We do not accept returns of goods (sheet music) for credit or exchange, unless faulty or supplied in error. We offer an approval service to recognised conductors and teachers to ascertain suitability of music. This applies to all Band and Ensemble music, whether purchased by an individual or an organization (please see details below).

Nearly all orders of sheet music are printed to order, this being in-house or through one of the many publishers and distributers that Studio Music trade with. Such orders are not entitled for return under the distance selling regulations as they are printed to order although we will review each such request on an individual basis. All items other than sheet music are covered under the distance selling regulations and therefore orders delivered within the EU can be returned within 14 days of receipt. Please contact us within the 14 days if you wish to return any items.

Returns are at the buyers expense unless the good delivered are wrong or damaged, with refunds conducted the same week as receipt of the items back, less any delivery charges, unless the good were incorrect or damaged. If you wish to send your parcel back to us by post, please make sure your items are securely wrapped including a copy of invoice/receipt and return to us at the following address:

Parcels are returned at your own cost, and we strongly recommend you obtain a free certificate of postage from the Post Office as we are only responsible for your parcel once it has been received into our warehouse. Items lost in transit will not be treated as returned. If however, the reason for the return is due to an error on our end, or if the goods are faulty, we will refund the cost of return postage.

Cancellations
If you wish to cancel your order prior to despatch, then please call us on 01933 448 200 to discuss your cancellation requirements.

None of these terms affect your legal rights and these are not diminished in any way. If any term is held to be invalid under any applicable statute or rule of law, that term is automatically omitted from the terms to minimum extent necessary to comply with the law and without affecting the validity or enforceability of the remainder.

Perusal Service
We offer a free perusal service to conductors/music teachers. We send the scores on a perusal invoice for a limited period. You then have the option to
(a) return the scores and the invoice is cancelled or
(b) confirm your wish to purchase the full item and we will cancel the invoice and dispatch the parts with a new invoice. There is a limit of 3 perusal scores per customer at any one time.
