There is no river Ux in Uxbridge, but the composer spent so many years there that it became the fictional setting for a number of easy flute pieces. This is the easiest of them with a range of just an octave (E – E), just one accidental and no notes faster than quavers. Although very basic in level it is an attractive tune for the student to play.
