A reflective piece for cornet or trumpet and piano, Song of Tranquillity was written for the sudden loss of a close friend of the composer. It was cathartically written to reflect the release from pain to peace. It was originally envisioned as a trumpet duet but is available here as a trumpet solo. It is not technically difficult but needs expressive power.
