An arrangement of the well-known Scottish song for soprano and band. This highly popular Scottish song (subtitled A Ballad of Home) was in fact composed by a Canadian, Laura Gertrude Lemon (15 October 1866 – 18 August 1924) who lived and worked in England, with words by a Londoner Wilfred Mills (the pen name of William Alfred Braund) who never set foot in Scotland. It was first published in 1905 and has subsequently become a favourite for Scots remembering their homeland when far away from home. This arrangement is for soprano for band and was featured on the RAF Massed Bands Tour 1999 and recorded on Festival of Music 1999 Polyphonic QPRM 133D.
