Classic Cole Porter!
Although written in the 1920's this number still has great entertainment value. Anyone who has heard the "husky" Eartha Kitt version will never forget it.
This Cy Payne chart is in a very playable arrangement for the usual big band line-up, plus optional 3 Bb clarinets, 3 flutes and horn in F.
A full band intro gives a clear lead into the first vocal chorus in the same way as in all our Swing Band Vocal titles. The middle 16 bar instrumental passage starts with unison gently swinging saxes and clarinets, followed by answering phrases featuring all sections, finishing with a final vocal chorus with the full band. No jazz solos.
