An uncommonly dark and brooding work for jazz ensemble. Will complement and contrast just about anything else you program. Mallets in the drums, unusual harmonies and gestures in the brass, strange groove in the bass instruments. Orchestral vibe with fairly conventional big band scoring. Ad lib space for your trumpet and trombone soloists.
