Flute & Piano. This work depicts an episode from J.R.R. Tokien's 'Middle Earth' epic, The Silmarillion. A hero, Beren, wandering alone after a battle, encounters Luthien, an elf princess, dancing and singing among the trees of a dense forest, and he falls in love with her and she with him. However, theirs is a forbidden love, since she is an immortal and he a mortal. This solo is also available with accompaniment for wind band.
