Midnite Blue is a smooth, relaxed swing ballad from Basie's "Atomic" album. The tune was written and arranged by Neal Hefti and contains wonderful harmonies plus great interplay and contrast between Piano and band. Though originally scored for seven brass, in this transcription we have scored for 8 brass, with the 3rd Trombone part being optional. The Piano part is written out in full "as played" by Basie, and the chart contains all of the necessary dynamics and phrasing indications that will allow your band to give an authentic performance.
