This tune from The Fairy Queen Suite (No. 2) represents the finest of Henry Purcell's work and is delightful with its emphasis on a light marcato stroke that flows easily and naturally at an allegretto tempo. The key of G major in both the 6/8 and 2/4 sections fits naturally under the fingers for young string students. The bass part has been simplified in a few places to more accurately match the technical abilities of young bass players; otherwise the cello and bass parts are in unison or octaves. These elements combine to make this an accessible grade 2 arrangement. Three copies of the 3rd Violin/Viola T.C. part are included in each set. Duration 1:30.
