This grade 2+ arrangement of the celebratory Hebrew folk song, meaning "Let Us Rejoice", is a staple of band performers at Jewish festivals. Though the tune is an ancient folk song, the person responsible for the popularity of this tune is Abraham Zevi Idelsohn - the father of Jewish Musicology. In 1918 he orchestrated the tune and added simple lyrics to the folksong to celebrate the British victory in Palestine during World War I. Duration ca. 1:55.
