Paying tribute to George Williams, a generous benefactor to the Deptford (NJ) High School music program, this buoyant Brazilian samba for advancing groups juxtaposes the feel of an intimate ensemble with that of a big band by featuring alto sax and trumpet against the jazz ensemble backdrop. The drum solo at the end can be opened up to include a variety of Latin percussion instruments if desired. Throughout this chart feelings of joy and exuberance should prevail.
