Written by Stephen Foster in 1854, this well-known song was apparently the result of an unsuccessful marriage between the composer and a Miss Jane McDowell – the daughter of a successful Pittsburgh physician. Television writer Farnon, David gave the tune a delightful Jazz-Rock feel and particular attention should be paid to playing the rhythm as feel written.
