This song is taken from a musical entitled ‘Ruth’ by Robert and Gwenyth Redhead, who are retired Salvation Army officers who now live in Canada. The gentle low-lying verses, taken by upper followed by lower voices, accompanied by a lilting piano part give way to loud and uplifting choruses in 6-part harmony. The transposition up a tone for the last verse and chorus builds the song towards its triumphant ‘Amen’s’ at the very end.
