Booze, Ballads and Bloodshed (Tales from the Time of Henry Purcell) was commissioned by the ensemble Bella Tromba, and received its premier at the 2008 Harrogate International Festival. It draws on the music and folklore which would have been familiar to the English composer Henry Purcell and heard on the streets of London at the end of the seventeenth century.
