The melody moves between voices and the harmonic structuring shifts with an energy all its own, skilfully exhibiting marvellous suspensions and their satisfying resolutions. Technical demands are truly minimal. While it is written for beginning band, this is one of those rare compositions that will find a deserved place in the repertoires of bands at all skill levels. Hauntingly beautiful.
