Written as either a fun or serious performance piece, this work incorporates several well-known and familiar classical melodies associated with the macabre and creepy. "Pieces Macabre" is offered by the arranger as an alternate title. Included themes are Johann Sebastian Bach's "Toccata and Fugue in D minor," Modest Moussorgsky's "Night on Bald Mountain," Charles Gounod's "Funeral March of a Marionette," and Edvard Grieg's "In the Hall of the Mountain King."
