Dvorak’s Symphony in E minor, Op.95 (from the New World), is more commonly known as Symphony No.9, rather than Symphony No.5. Originally, Dvorak and his publishers assigned numbers to his symphonies according to the date of publication, as opposed to the date of composition. His first four symphonies were published posthumously, which led to all nine being renumbered after this arrangement was published.
